The prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) have been reduced to start the 2026-27 fiscal year.
Petrol has been reduced by Rs. 1.97 to Rs. 297.53 per litre, while diesel was also reduced by the same amount to Rs. 309.5 per litre for the next seven days.
An official notification by the Petroleum Division was later shared to confirm the new rates.
The new rates will remain in effect for one more week.
Last week, the prices of petrol were kept unchanged, while in the current week, a climate levy of Rs. 5 was imposed on petrol and diesel in accordance with the Finance Act 2026.
On June 26, petrol was kept unchanged at Rs. 299 per litre, while diesel was retained at Rs. 311 per litre.
